Day Itinerary

1. Starting Point: Cluj

   08:00  from KFC , Piata Unirii in Cluj Napoca, Strada George Barițiu nr. 18. Start your adventure from Cluj Napoca, and head toward Bran, home of the iconic Dracula Castle


2. Bran Castle - The Heart of Dracula’s Realm: Arrival at Bran Castle around 12:00 PM is famously associated with Vlad the Impaler and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Visitors can tour its medieval chambers, dungeons, and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. The castle also houses a museum with historical exhibits and furniture from the 14th century.

    Main Attraction:

Vlad the Impaler Connection: Vlad III, also known as Vlad the Impaler or Dracula, was a 15th-century ruler of Wallachia whose brutal methods of ruling inspired Bram Stoker’s famous novel Dracula.
The Architecture of Bran Castle: originally built in 1377 by King Louis I of Hungary to defend the strategic mountain pass against invading forces. The interior features gothic furniture, wooden staircases, and armory, providing an authentic feel of medieval life.
The Courtyard: The castle’s courtyard is a peaceful area surrounded by the fortress walls, with beautiful flower gardens and a small fountain.
 

    14:30 PM – Depart for Sighisoara:After visiting Bran Castle, head towards Sighisoara, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe


3. . Sighișoara - Medieval Citadel:

      One of the most beautiful and well-preserved medieval towns in Romania, located in the heart of Transylvania. It stands out for its historical charm, colorful buildings, and its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

    Main Attraction:

The Clock Tower, the symbol of the citadel, with its museum and spectacular views.
The birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula, and learn about his role in history and folklore.
The Stag House and other quaint medieval homes.
Climb the Covered Staircase to the Church on the Hill, where you can enjoy views over the citadel.

    16:30 PM – Free time in Sighisoara :Enjoy a stroll through the picturesque streets of Sighisoara, exploring the Clock Tower, Vlad the Impaler’s birthplace, and the fortified citadel. You’ll have some free time to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site, soaking in the medieval charm


4. Return to Cluj

 

17:30 PM – Return Journey to Cluj Napoca after your visit to Sighisoara, we begin the drive back to Cluj Napoca we will arrive in the evening, having experienced the mysterious beauty of Dracula Castle and the charm of Sighisoara


  This 13-hour day trip will immerse you in the legends of Dracula, as you explore Bran Castle and stroll through the medieval streets of Sighisoara.
