City tour Cluj

The “treasure city “ tour starts in front of  your hotel and takes about two hours. Cluj is the city with the largest botanical garden in Southern Europe and the third largest in the world. Dioscover the Catholic Dome « St. Michael » - the only Catholic church in Europe where the altar isn’t situated directly in the east (where the sun rises in the autumn equinox), but where sun rises on  November 8, St. Michael’s day (the feast of Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel ) 

The first thing to see on our tourare the ruins of the old Roman camp. Next we’ll discover the old Benedictine monastery, the square of the history museum and you will see the house of the famous hungarian king, Matei Corvin. The Catholic Church “St. Michael”, a milestone in Cluj (the second largest Gothic church in Transylvania) is an absolute must on our program. Bannfy Palace, Continental Hotel, “old Town Hall ” and the “mirror street” complete the city’s urban arhitecture. The headquarters of the « Babes Bolyai » University is proof of the cities student tradition, Cluj being the host of more than one hundred thousand students every year

Our tour ends with the visit of the Orthodox Cathedral and of the National Theater, built in the former lamberjack market.
